Our girl Heidi gave us 15 wonderful years. She crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge in December of 1998. She is dearly missed.
This is Zucchini (Zuke). Dad named her, and I always said she was made out of left-over cat parts. She was a strange cat: She'd drool if you petted her on your lap, and her claws COULD NOT stop flexing (OWCH). When she played with you, she gave you the full cat sound effects, every yowl, hiss and meow were included. She never quite figured out how to become an overnight indoor cat; It had something to do with waking Mom up at 4 am in the morning. Buddy Left me for the Rainbow Bridge sometime around the 1st of July 2000. I was on vacation and wasn't around to say goodbye to him. I adopted him from a roommate sometime in the late 1980's, so he was about 12 years old. He had kidney problems for a few years and had lost weight. He was a strange cat, but we seemed to have a understanding between each other. My house sure is empty... Buddy in his prime Buddies last picture....
Heidi loved to chase him, when he would run. After a while, Buddy decided he didn't like running and stood up for himself. Then Heidi decided it wasn't any fun anymore. I now wonder what's now happening at the bridge.
Rainbow
Bridge All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together... *Author Unknown* |
